Main State inmate who stabbed a sex offender Micah Boland in prison shows no regret

A prison inmate who was told he will spend the rest of his life behind bars after stabbing a sex offender 87 times said he feels better knowing 'he is not alive'.

Micah Boland was killed while serving a 22-year sentence for sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl at Maine State Prison by fellow inmate Richard Stahursky last year.

Stahursky was told yesterday that he will never leave prison, but showed nor regret, telling the judge he will sleep better knowing that Boland was dead.

The convicted armed robber told the hearing he served as 'judge jury and executioner,' for Boland who had caused him to lose a prison job, reports WABI-TV.

He pleaded guilty to the crime at a hearing, on the condition that he could personally address the judge to show his lack of remorse.

Stahursky was originally convicted for armed robbery but has since been in trouble for a number of other assaults while in custody.

He has stabbed two other inmates and assaulted a prison officer, each adding time to his sentence.
